P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education (PCE)

Established in 1973 to provide need-based grants to women in Canada and the United States whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to complete a degree or certification that will improve their marketable skills for employment to support themselves and/or their families.  

Maximum Award Amount

  • Maximum $4,000 grant (a lesser amount may be awarded)

Highlights

  • At least 24 consecutive months as a non-student sometime in her adult life
  • Within 18 consecutive months of completing her educational program which, at the conclusion, will lead to employment or job advancement
  • Grant is to be used only for educational expenses (ie, tuition, books, supplies, transportation, childcare while in class, required uniforms, testing fees and equipment/tools)
  • Only eligible for one PCE grant
  • A local chapter recommendation must be submitted between 8 and 14 weeks prior to the term start date for which the grant is requested, but should start 1 or 2 months prior in order to complete all requirements
